Public Transport
Crete has a main carriageway on the North coast that connects the four major cities, starting from west Chania, Rethymno, Herakleio and Agios Nicolaos.
There are two airports: one at Chania and one at Herakleio.
There are three major ports in the same cities and in Rethymno.
This is the backbone of the transportation on Crete. You can enter Crete using one of the above ports or airports.
Every half hour, buses run along the carriegeway between the major cities. One of their stops is Rethymno Bus Terminal. From there, there is a bus running to Plakias 2-4 times a day, the schedule differs with the season.
