The Village-Apartments-Rent-Rooms in Myrthios’ (or Mirthios) are found between two gorges, the Kourtaliotiko Gorge and the Kotsifou Gorge in the south of the district Rethymno on Crete. Myrthios is a small village with a panoramic view over the Plakias’ bay.The beautiful landscape and the atmosphere of the village is ideal for you to relax and enjoy yourself during your vacation. From Myrthios village there is a path of unique natural beauty leading to the village of Plakias at the sea (1,5 km). The walk lasts about 20 minutes. The path is found in the middle of the village, close to the Village-Apartments-Rent-Rooms.

Crossing the bewitching path to Plakias, you will encounter various species of herbs and flowers unique to Crete’s flora. Also, there are springs with running water, from which the village habitants used to be supplied with 50 years ago.

The Village-Apartments-Rent-Rooms are a 5 minutes drive from the sea and the village of Plakias at the bay. In Plakias you find supermarkets, tavernas at the seafront, coffee places and bars, a bus station, taxi stations, a doctors office, a pharmacy and a post office.

You can enjoy the sandy beach of Plakias bay and discover some other smaller beaches in Damnoni, Souda and Lefkogia.

If you like water sports, you have the chance to explore the sea of southern Crete with scuba-diving in Plakias and Damnoni with organized groups of two diving centers. There is also an offer for water ski, wind surfing etc.in Damnoni.

A beautiful destination is also the river and the lake of Preveli, where you can go either by car or by boat.

The location of the valley between the gorges facing the mountains is unique.
